Be Yourself

After being at a conference this weekend, I simply wanted to share one thing that stood out to me at a workshop, which is to be yourself ! As students there is so much pressure to fit in, but its so much more appealing to just be yourself despite what anyone else believes. In being yourself you will achieve much more, and break boundaries you didn’t even know were possible! With that being said I wanted to share a poem, and allow you all to think about it ...

The Boy Who Wanted to Make a Difference

There was a young man growing up in the lower eastside of Buffalo, NY. He was almost

finished completing high school and couldn’t wait to be in college. He felt as though college

brought maturity, new horizons and most importantly, freedom. As the school year drew to an end,

the acceptance letters became to pour in, each starting with “Congratulations”! The young man

was so excited that all his hard work and dedication to his academics and extracurricular

activities had finally paid off. With so many options to choose from, the young man had tough

decisions to make, would he choose a social campus or a campus focused more on academics?
